Join the City of Mississauga and partners at the annual Earth Day tree planting event on Saturday, April 22 at 9:30 a.m. This year, to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday and to kick off the tree planting program for 2017, 150 trees will be planted in each of Mississauga’s 11 wards.
The event’s flagship site is Mississauga Valley Park in Ward 4 where there will be exhibitors, a tree tour hosted by LEAF, community garden activities hosted by Ecosource and, of course, tree plantings.
We are hosting the events at Richard Jones Park and John C. Pallett Park. Bring your family and friends out to help us plant 150 trees at Richard Jones Park and John C. Pallett Park!
Trees planted will support the City’s One Million Trees Mississauga campaign. This is a 20-year program to encourage residents, schools, community groups and businesses to join the City’s tree planting efforts to plant more trees on both public and private lands in Mississauga. To date, over 240,000 trees and shrubs have been planted with the help of volunteers. This Earth Day, 1,650 trees and shrubs will be added to our total.
