October is Pawpaw Month, a time to celebrate the beautiful but rare pawpaw tree! This unique tree, native to Southwestern Ontario, bears the largest native fruit in North America, fruit that is edible with a custard-like texture and flavour tones of mango, banana and melon!
To help kick off the celebration of the pawpaw tree, the Carolinian Canada Coalition, in partnership with various host organizations including ACER, is bringing the Great Pawpaw Parade to town! The parade hopes to add more than 500 new pawpaw trees to the Southern Ontario landscape this October through several initiatives including The Great Pawpaw Parade Giveaway Contest. To learn more about how you can enter to win a pair of pawpaw trees, visit Carolinian Canada’s contest page here! Note that the contest closes at midnight on Friday, September 27 so…don’t delay!
Or, you can contribute to the parade by BUYING a pair of pawpaw trees through the Pawpaw Parade’s Pop-Up Shop Fundraiser!
