OUR MISSION: ACER supports communities, government agencies and corporations in taking action to reduce biodiversity loss and strengthen climate resilience by increasing and monitoring urban and riparian zone forest canopy.

Tree Planting Volunteers

The Association for Canadian Educational Resources (ACER) is seeking experienced volunteers to help plant and monitor trees. Volunteers will be responsible for ensuring that all trees are planted according to ACER’s protocol.

We have two opportunities left this spring to help children plant trees on their schoolyard in Niagara Falls and Brampton. The confirmed planting day is:

  • June 8, 2017: Princess Margaret P.S., Niagara Falls

The planting day at Central Peel S.S. in Brampton will be confirmed shortly and will take place on either May 31, June 1st or June 2nd.

A map of the planting locations is available here.

The schools we’ll be planting at will become part of ACER’s growing Planting for Change (P4C) network of schoolyard planting sites that act as mini-climate change outdoor classrooms/labs.

If this sounds like an exciting opportunity to you, fill out the form below. We’ll get back to you and schedule a phone call to discuss what a typical planting day with ACER looks like. For more information, contact Mike McMillan at mike.mcmillan@acer-acre.ca or 905-891-6004.
