4.0 Introduction

This section of the CD “Climate Change in Context” includes time and events from the early formations of continents on Earth until written history began. The study of geological and fossil records provides the evidence of these early times. Interpretation of these records provides an understanding of the Earth’s early climate. The changes in climate and the impacts of climate change are documented in the rock and fossil formations seen today.
