7.1.2
Global mitigation is concerned with ways to reduce worldwide emissions of greenhouse gases. This includes governments at all levels and all sectors of society. The global thinking and reporting summarized here is based on the Third Assessment Report (TAR) 2001. This report was the work of almost 2000 international scientists who were members of the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
The challenge for all of us is to reduce our emissions of greenhouse gases as quickly and as much as possible so that future generations can live in a stabilized and sustainable environment.
