OUR MISSION: As our climate changes, ACER supports communities with grassroots initiatives to plant trees, and educates on how to measure, monitor and report on tree health and growth.

Wildwood Park Restoration Area D3

On November 10 ,2014, 16 students from City School arrived at Wildwood Park located on Derry Road East and Goreway Drive in Mississauga. These dedicated students planted native plant species and removed invasive species (Buckthorn and Garlic Mustard) . They also cleaned up the site so it was free from litter. They also monitored approximately 10% of each native tree and shrub species planted.

An essential element to this program is to keep community members engaged to study climate change impacts over a long-term period. Therefore, if you are interested to learn more about this program or wish to volunteer to measure trees next year, please contact our office.
