Looking to get outside and volunteer?
The Association for Canadian Educational Resources (ACER), in partnership with the City of Mississauga, is seeking volunteers to help monitor trees that were planted in 5 Mississauga parks as part of this year’s Earth Day and Canada 150 celebration.
No experience is required – we’ll teach you how it’s done.
The dates and times are:
- June 15, 2017: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Osprey Marsh
- June 15, 2017: 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., Castlegreen Meadows
- June 19, 2017: 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Mississauga Valley Park
- June 19, 2017: 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., Cawthra Park
- June 22, 2017: 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., Credit Meadows Park

The monitoring data, which will be posted on ACER’s website and shared with the City of Mississauga, can be used to guide decisions on optimal tree species to plant in a given area.
