HSY 2008

HYS 2008This project was a successful organizational partnership initiative created to restore and enhance natural areas in the Humber River Valley with a summer youth stewardship team. Protocols were followed to remove invasive species in a naturalized area along the west branch of the Humber River; to map and monitor the success of a 15 year old planting; and to restore the area through additional planting of native tree and shrub species.  The area chosen had native trees that could thrive with reduced competition. Analysis by species included health of planted trees and their regeneration.
