OUR MISSION: ACER supports communities, government agencies and corporations in taking action to reduce biodiversity loss and strengthen climate resilience by increasing and monitoring urban and riparian zone forest canopy.

Riparian Rangers Lake Simcoe

Riparian Rangers Lake Simcoe is a 2 year project funded by Environment Canada, and completed in cooperation with the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA). ACER staff established a benchmark for 10% (2,125) of the over 10, 000 tree and shrubs planted by the LSRCA in riparian zones. ACER staff tagged, mapped, and measured 1108 plants at 8 sites in the first year (2015) and 1017 plants at 15 sites in the second year (2016).
