OUR MISSION: ACER supports communities, government agencies and corporations in taking action to reduce biodiversity loss and strengthen climate resilience by increasing and monitoring urban and riparian zone forest canopy.

The Gateway Project

The Gateway Project is a 28 month initiative funded under the Ontario Regional Adaptation collaborative, in partnership with MNR. The project involves working with municipalities and conservation authorities to use The Gateway, an access and discovery tool intended to help decision-makers assess the risks related to climate change, to implement effective adaptation measures in their watersheds. ACER expert scientists in climate change and water management are working with MNR, various municipalities and 5 Conservation Authorities across Ontario to populate, test and optimize the Gateway, and demonstrate how this tool can help inform the implementation of more effective watershed adaptation measures.
