On Tuesday, Oct 25, 2011, ACER partnered up with Humber Arboretum in the Planting for Change Program allowing students to collect data on the health and yearly growth of their tree plantings as they explore issues surrounding climate change locally and globally. Students from Blessed John XXIII Catholic School and St. Dunstan Catholic School helped with the planting. The new tree plot has become a beautiful outdoor classroom. Now ready for data collecting and a whole host of other educational benefits to the students such as the possibility of real field science. Thank you to everyone who helped out, students, staff, volunteers! We will see you next year for maintenance and monitoring.
ACER’s president, Alice Casselman, Project Lead, Sophie Lu, and Forestry/Landscaping Consultant, Sadia Butt, all helped coordinate the planting.
