On Oct. 24th, 2013, Mrs. Cowan’s grade 6 class from Dr. G. J. MacGillivray P.S. in Courtice, ON went out to their schoolyard to re-measure the trees that were planted last year as part of the P4C program. This program involves planting 15 native indicator tree species and is part of a long-term tree monitoring project. The students learnt how to measure the crown width, tree height, diameter at 1.3m, and assess the health of each tree. Thanks to Mrs. Cowan’s class for helping collect this important data!
