ACER participated at the Halton Forest Festival Public Days and Educational Days! Thanks to Conservation Halton for organizing a great event and to all the students who participated in our Tree Monitoring activity at Rattlesnake Point! The data will be entered into our database and can be found under Measuring Our Resources – Halton Forest Festival Rattlesnake Point.
The students learnt to identify the different tree species in the forest site (e.g. Black Cherry, Ironwood, American Beech, Sugar Maple, White Pine and White Spruce). The students also measured the Diameter at Breast Height (DBH), Crown Width, Total Height and Health Status of our tagged trees.
