ACER, Carolinian Canada Coalition (CCC), and Ontario Urban Forest Council (OUFC) organized the event Community Solutions in a Changing Climate: Coping with Change in our Backyard which took place at Humber College on May 23rd-24th, 2013. The event was a success and brought together ENGOs, citizen scientists including teachers and students, scientists including a Canadian Nobel Prize winning scientist, and community members. Presentations, walking tours of ACER’s experimental plots and the Humber Arboretum, discussion, and ACER and CCC AGMs were all apart of this two-day event. The CCC Conservation Awards were presented on Thursday night at our birthday party (ACER is celebrating its 25th year, OUFC is celebrating its 50th year, and CCC is celebrating its 29th year).
Thanks to all our volunteers and sponsors who helped make this event possible!
