Thank you to the students at Guido de Bres High School for re-measuring their trees. The trees were planted in 2010 and are growing very well despite the rabbits that are eating them! The shrubs are also doing well at this school (3 shrubs planted around each tree in 2010).

The mayor of Niagara-on-the-Lake, DSBN, Climate Action Niagara and the principal, teachers and students of St. Michael’s E.S. all came out to celebrate the trees and shrubs that were planted. On Oct. 2nd,  Mr. Miller’s geography classes at David Suzuki S.S. in Brampton re-measured the P4C trees located on their school grounds. The trees are alive and well!  

The environmental science class at Christ the King S.S. re-measured the P4C trees behind their football field and took soil samples. The students re-measured trees that were planted in 2008 in Georgetown, ON.  

ACER helped students at Marydale Park Facility in Mount Hope, ON plant the P4C suite of trees on the property. The day was a success and students learnt how to properly plant, measure and mulch trees. A perfect way to celebrate National Forest week!  

On Wednesday and Thursday July 30th and 31st, ACER trained the Ministry of Natural Resources Stewardship Rangers  to take measurements of the trees at Willow Park Ecology Centre in Georgetown. The students measured trees in the 10 quadrats that are located at the park.

ACER went to Get Outside Ontario at Rouge Park in Toronto to help train youth leaders how to measure trees and develop leadership skills. The youth measured 20 mature trees and recorded the data as part of an inventory of the trees at Glen Forest Campgrounds.

ACER participated in the Leslieville Tree Festival in Toronto on Saturday June 22nd, 2013. Although it poured rain, the event was a success and was organized by LEAF. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our booth!
