Sheridan Inventory Fall 2020

Tree Inventory was carried out, under COVID protocols, by 7 students Sheridan College – Davis Campus Brampton in two field teams, each of 3 members and 1 person working remotely. The field teams measured 406 trees (38 species) for analysis and mapping. The Japanese tree Lilac and Silver Maple had the highest population density. Silver Maple trees sequestered the most carbon dioxide. The total amount of carbon in inventoried trees was 216,000 kg or 216 tons; the amount of carbon dioxide sequestered was 789,000 kg or 789 tons in 2020.
